Reading the room

What makes an order photograph well

Almost every order here ends up in somebody's camera roll, and that changes how we design. A shirt that looks sharp folded on a table can disappear in a group photo if the text sits too low or the color washes out under a flash.

So we design for the picture as much as the product. Text sits where a person's arms will not cover it. Colors are chosen to separate from the venue, not blend into a beige hall. Backdrop artwork leaves clear standing space in the middle instead of putting the design where the people go.

A small example: a reunion shirt with the family name across the chest reads perfectly one-on-one. In a fifty-person photo taken from twenty feet back, the same name at the same size turns into a smudge. Sizing it up by a third costs nothing and saves the picture.

Another: pale yellow lettering looks beautiful on a screen and vanishes against a cream church wall. We would suggest teal or deep pink for that room, and show you both before you decide.

And one more: glossy vinyl banners bounce camera flash straight back. For indoor evening events we point people toward matte fabric so the photos do not come back with a white hotspot across the design.
